Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Business Development Manager to expand the reach of our learning programs through strategic partnerships with large organizations, including schools, banks, telecom companies, and fintech platforms. In this role, you'll take the lead in identifying, initiating, and closing high-impact deals that help scale our offerings quickly and effectively.
Your initial focus will be on developing partnerships with schools, along with one other sector where you have deep experience, such as telcos, banking, or fintech. We're looking for someone who knows how to navigate complex sales cycles, engage decision-makers, and deliver results from day one. Job Details
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and maintain a list of potential partners across key sectors (education, telecom, banking, fintech).
- Engage decision-makers at schools and telcos or fintechs/superapps, and banks to explore partnership opportunities.
- Lead deal processes from pitch to close—including writing proposals, presenting offers, and supporting MoU signings.
- Collaborate with internal teams to plan and execute the smooth delivery of signed partnerships.
- Maintain and update a live sales pipeline, with weekly reporting on deal progress and results.
What We’re Looking For:
- Strong network of decision-makers in at least one of our target sectors: schools, telcos, banks, or fintechs/superapps.
- Proven track record of closing one large deal worth ₦75M+ or multiple smaller deals totaling ₦150M+.
- Experience testing and scaling partnerships, starting small, proving value, and expanding impact.
- Ability to explain education and learning solutions clearly to partners with diverse backgrounds.
- Skilled at working across both external organizations and internal teams to move partnerships forward.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, knows how to make strategic deals happen, and is passionate about expanding access to impactful learning programs.
Requirements
Must have:
- Effective stakeholder engagement capabilities.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in business development, partnerships, or enterprise sales.
- Experience with licensing, platform, or content partnership deals.
- Ability to explain learning solutions simply and clearly to partners.
- Excellent communication—both written and verbal.
